Day 01.

Colombo

Upon arrival to the Srilankan international Airport, be greeted by your Chauffer Guide who shall take you by Airconditioned vehicle to Colombo   city.  check – in to the hotel, rest and relax to recover from any jet lag. If you have spare time, our guide will take you to explore around Colombo city.

Day 02.

Sigiriya

Morning drive to the Sigiriya  via  Ambepussa – Trincomalee Hwy/ A6 , visit the 5th centure Sigiriya rock fortress. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in  the 5th  century  A .D.  And was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. It is a complex of buildings, part royal palace, part fortified town, and water gardens on par with the best in the ancient world, constitute a magnificent and unique architectural feat of the ancient Sinhalese. In a sheltered pocket approached by a spiral stairway are the famous Sigiriya frescoes, the earliest surviving pictorial art of Sri Lanka and of the same period as the Ajantha Frescoes of India. The summit of the rock with an area of nearly  one hc. Was the site of the palace. It is regarded as the 8th wonder ot the  ancient world. Day 03.

Polonnaruwa

After breakfast, drive to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. This medieval city is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site. It is famous for its elaborate carvings, sculptures, and temples. Polonnaruwa was the island’s capital from the 11th to the 13th century. A short but glorious period that allowed a flourishing of Buddhist art and architecture. After discovering the Polonnaruwa  return to Sigiriya and in the evening get the experience of Sri lankan  Ayurvedic Body Treatment

Day 04.

Sigiriya

Morning visit the Dambulla Golden Temple and discover the famous caves and old paintings.  Afternoon Elephant Safari in Minneriya National park.  Overnight Sigiriya.

Day 05.

Kandy

In the morning, we make our way from Sigiriya to Kandy, visiting herbal and spice gardens en route. Matale and Dambulla are famous for their spice and herbal gardens. Here you will learn about Sri Lankan spices and the health properties of herbs. In the evening, get a Kandyan cultural dance experience and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha. Overnight Kandy.

Day 06.

Nuwara Eliya

  • Highlight  : Visit a Tea Plantation and Factory,  Ramboda falls , Kandy shopping 

After breakfast, explore Kandy with city highlights (Kandy View Point, Big Buddha statue, walking around Kandy Lake) and enjoy your shopping. In the afternoon, leave for Nuwara Eliya (Little England), visiting the Royal Botanical Garden and Tea Factory en route.

Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 07.

Nuwara Eliya

Day 08.

Ella

“ELLA”

A sleepy village a decade ago, it now attracts large numbers of foreign visitors. The main attraction is the stunning view through a narrow cleft in the hills. known as the “Ella Gap.” After breakfast, enjoy a few more laid-back hours in Nuwara Eliya this morning before we head back to Ella by train. In the early afternoon, catch a train from Nanu Oya station and enjoy the world’s most beautiful train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. Overnight Ella

 

Day 09.

Ella

After early morning breakfast trek to Little Adam’ s Peak to see the famous Nine Arch Bridge and beautiful sunrise from above. Thereafter, Walking to famous Ella Rock and  visit breathtaking Ravana Ella Falls . Overnight Ella.

Day 10.

Katharagama

After breakfast, proceed to the holy city of Kataragama in time to see their daily puja at the temple. Kataragama is the most important pilgrimage site in Sri Lanka. It is a holy place for Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, and Veddah people. Once in Kataragama, visit the Kataragama shrine, dedicated to God Skanda (Murugan), the god of war. Many believe that King Dutugemunu built a shrine to Kataragama Deviyo here in the 2nd century BC. Today is Kataragama, a place of worship for Buddhists, Hindus, and some Muslims. Evening at leisure. Day 11.

Tangalle

Early breakfast and getting ready for the highly famous Yala Safari. The total protected area now stands at 1268 square kilometers of scrub, light forest, grassy plains, and brackish lagoons.It’s divided into five blocks, with the most visited being Block 1 (141 sq km). also known as “Yala West.” With around 25 leopards present in Block 1 alone, Yala is considered one of the world’s best parks for spotting these big cats. “Panthera pardus kotiya”, the subspecies you may well see, is unique to Sri Lanka. The park’s estimated 300 elephants Other animals of note include the shaggy-coated sloth bear and fox-like jackals. Sambars, spotted deer, boars, crocodiles, mongooses, and monkeys are here. along with startlingly large crocodiles.Over 200 species of birds have been recorded at Yala, many of which are visitors escaping the northern winter, such as white-winged black terns, curlews, and pintails. Locals include jungle fowl, hornbills, orioles, and peacocks by the bucketload.

After the safari, proceed to Tangalle. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure at Tangalle Beach

Day 12.

Tangalle

We’ve got a free day today. Relax on the white sand beach and get ready for an exciting turtle viewing tour in the evening. The Rekawa Turtle Watch is a conservation project dedicated to protecting the various endemic turtle species that nest on the warm, golden shores of Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Many turtles are often found nesting in Rekawa. Of the seven marine turtle species found in the world, five are found in Sri Lanka. (OLIVE RIDLEY, HAWKSBILL, LOGGERHEAD, GREEN TURTLE, and LEATHERBACK). The conservation project protects the eggs until they are ready to be released back into the big blue. A lot of patience is required at times if you wish to spot a turtle. The turtles that reach the top of the beach then begin digging a hole for about 45 minutes before laying the eggs and wading back into the water. Visitors are advised to avoid using torches or any blinding lights or camera flashes since they could disturb and distract these turtles. Overnight Tangalle…

 

Day 13.

Galle

After breakfast proceed to dutch colonial city of Galle. Once in Galle, explore the highly picturesque seaport town of  Galle and  world famous Galle Fort . Galle is a jewel.  A  UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE .  This historic city is a delight to explore on foot, An endlessly exotic old trading port blessed with imposing Dutch – colonial buildings, ancient mosques and churches, grand mansions and museums. Built by the Dutch, beginning in 1663. Most travellers are utterly seduced by Galle’s ambience, and it’s undoubtedly southern Srilanka’s one unmissable sight.

Later : This evening is all yours . spend the evening checking out the city,s vibrant bar and restaurant scene at your leisure. Overnight Galle.

 

Day 14.

Negombo

  • Highlight : Visiting Negombo Beach and the Negombo Fish Market

After breakfast, drive to Negombo, which was your last destination during your Sri Lankan stay. Negombo is a modest beach town 10 km from Bandaranayake International Airport. Sometimes known as “Little Rome”, The Dutch captured the town from the Portuguese in 1640. The British then took it from them in 1796. Negombo was one of the most important sources of cinnamon during the Dutch era, and there are still reminders of the European days. After visiting the fish market and the beautiful colonial city, it’s time to end your final day in paradise. Overnight Negombo
