Day 01.

Negombo

At the airport you will be greeted by our SURANGA TOURS representative and your chauffeur guide who will take you comfortably to the colonial city of Negombo. Day 02.

Sigiriya

Your fascinating tour is begins..  This morning depart on your journey to nature surrounding the old city of Sigiriya. Once in Sigiriya, in the evening visit the famous Pidurangala temple and enjoy the stunning sunset in Pidurangala rock above.

Day 03.

Minneriya

  • Highlight : Visit the 5 th century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Elephant Safari at Minneriya National Park.

After breakfast, visit the world famous Sigiriya rock fortress. Sigiriya ( also known as Sinhagiri) is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the central province, Sri Lanka. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock around 180 metres(590 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the CULAVAMSA, this area was a large forest, then after storms and landslides it became a hill and was selected by KING KASHYAPA (477-495) for his new capital.He built his palace on top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful FRESCOES. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure sinhagiri, the Lion Rock. The capital and the royal palace were abandoned after the king’s death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

After your historical exploration in Sigiriya, afternoon join for Elephant safari at Minneriya national park.Minneriya park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Wewa, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and leopard.The dry season, from April to October, is reckoned to be the best time to visit . Elephants,which can number 200 or more, come to feed and bathe during what is known as ”THE GATHERING,” and flocks of birds, such as little cormorants,painted storks, herons and large pelicans all fish in the shallow waters. Day 04.

Sigiriya

After breakfast, mornings proceed to the ancient city of polonnaruwa. The mediaeval city with grand stone sculpture and shows the influence of the South Indian Hindu culture on the Sinhala Buddhist art and architecture.The city’s quadrangle formed a sacred precinct and contained many of polonnaruwa’s most impressive structures,including the VATADAGE  and its famous MOONSTONE. The Lankatilaka headless Buddha, the artistry at Gal Vihara, which arguably represents the zenith of Sinhalese rock carving.

After your interesting historical exploration, head back to the sigiriya, and in the evening enjoy the traditional Srilankan cuisine at the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight Sigiriya

Day 05.

Kandy

  • Highlight : Visit a Herbal and Spice Garden, Kandy Cultural Dancing Show, The temple of the Sacred tooth Relic

In the morning, after breakfast, we proceed to the island heart of the royal city of Kandy. On our way, we will stop off at the Herbal and Spice Garden in Matale. In a herbal garden, you will learn about Sri Lankan spices and the health properties of herbs. Spices include cocoa, vanila, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, coffee, nutmeg, pepper, cardamon, aloevera, iriweriya, and the henna plant.

After the herbal gardens, the journey continues to Kandy. In the evening, attend a Kandy cultural dance performance and visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Evening at leisure. Overnight Kandy.

Day 06.

Kandy

After breakfast, visit the world famous Royal Botanical Garden, Bahirawakanda temple ( Big Buddha) , and Kandy view point. Afternoon  enjoy your exciting kandy shopping, by visiting GEM & JEWELLERY, SILK & BATIK, WOOD CRAFT, LEATHER, and beautiful HANDICRAFT factories (It’s fascinating to see how they make their product by hand). Evening walk around the beautiful Kandy Lake. Overnight Kandy.

Day 07.

Nuwara eliya

  • Highlight : Tea Factory and Plantation, Scenic Landscape and Breathtaking Waterfalls.

After breakfast, today we proceed to beautiful Nuwara Eliya, where you can spend the day relaxing with lush green TEA hills. Visiting a Tea factory and testing a best cup of tea while you learn about tea processing is fantastic on your journey. After the tea factory, spend some time at  Ramboda falls and enjoy breathtaking scenery as your first waterfall experience in magical Sri Lanka. Thereafter, the journey continues through lush terraced tea fields to Nuwara Eliya, evening walk around the famous Gregory Lake. Overnight Nuwara Eliya.

Day 08.

Horton plains

After breakfast, in the morning visit the highly attractive Horton Plain National Park. Better known locally as ” Maha Eliya Thenna,” or the GREAT OPEN PLAIN. The Horton plain national park is a vast protected plateau in the central highland of Sri Lanka covered by montane grassland and cloud forest and home to numerous species of plants, birds, and animals, including the endangered slender loris.Located at an altitude of between 2103 and 2286 metres and covering some 3.160 hectares, the  Horton Plain are considered Sri Lanka’s most important watershed with the headwaters of three major rivers, the MAHAWELI, KELANI and WALAWE  located here. The sheer precipice of WORLD’S END and BAKER’S FALLS  are among the tourist attractions of the park. In july 2010, the Horton Plain and nearby peak wilderness sanctuary were inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage list.

Day 09.

Day 10.

Ella

Thereafter, trek to the famous ELLA ROCK and enjoy the breathtaking RAVANA ELLA FALLS.  After a full day out, head back to the hotel well and truly satisfied. Day 11.

Belihul Oya

Beautiful Belihuloya is your destination today. After breakfast, proceed to Belihuloya visiting Srilanka’s high st waterfall of  bambarakanda falls en route. With a height of 263m (863 ft) Bambarakanda falls ranks as the 461 st highest waterfall in the World. Spending wonderful time at Bambarakanda falls, afterwards, the journey continues to Belihuloya. Day 12.

Sinharaja

SINHARAJA (Lions’ Kingdom)

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a forest reserve and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Sinharaja is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. More than 60% of the trees are endemic, and many of them are considered rare. Butterflies, amphibians, birds, snakes, and fish species account for half of Sri Lanka’s endemic species.It is home to 95% of endemic birds. Sinharaja was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988. There are 3–4 elephants and around 15 leopards. The most common large mammal is the endemic purple-faced langur. Birds tend to move in mixed feeding flocks, invariably led by the fearless Sri Lanka Crested Drongo and the noisy Orange-billed Babbler. Of Sri Lanka’s 26 endemic birds, 20 rainforest species occur here. including the elusive red-faced malkoha, green-billed coucal and Sri Lanka blue magpie. Reptiles include the endemic green pit viper and hump-nosed vipers, and there are a large variety of amphibians, especially tree frogs, Invertebrates include the endemic Sri Lankan birdwing butterfly and leeches.

Swaying palms, golden beaches, shimmering waters, and fiery sunset are just some of the many things that make Mirissa, a quintessential tropical paradise.  After Ocean View and a lovely breakfast, proceed to Bentota, visiting STILT FISHERMAN en route. This is a great and extraordinary fishing method that has only been sighted down south of Sri Lanka for centuries. The fishermen sat on a narrow pole that was tight with a stick, which stood up on the sea bed and was one of the ways of life for old Ceylonese. Every year, a huge number of people come to engage in this amazing activity. There is an opportunity for foreigners to get tremendous and unforgettable experiences.
